Where My Heart Is

When I first moved here to Dallas things were so crazy and messed up. It took me a very long time to sort everything out and start getting things on the path that I wanted them to be on. Along with all the normal stresses of moving to a new town, I also had the extra burden of learning how to live my life again sober and worrying about meeting new friends. In the beginning I fell into the wrong crowds, just like before, but I quickly remembered that's not why I moved here and pulled away. In that short time I started talking to several guys who turned out to be very disappointing, so it was quite refreshing when I came across someone who was actually nice to me and I enjoyed being around!

James & Dylan

Cicero and I were getting out hair cut at this salon on the gay strip here in town where I saw this cute blonde boy working the front desk. The whole time I was getting my hair cut I was looking at him through the mirror. I never said anything, just paid him and left. I would walk by the salon often and each time we would make eye contact and smile at each other. The next time we went in to get our hair done, I asked our stylist about him. Found out his name was Dylan and he was single, SWEET! When Isabell finished with my hair I gave him a card with my name and number on it and told him to give it to Dylan if he asked about me, but to throw it out if not. Needless to say I got a text from him a few days later and things went from there.

It has been three months now and has been quite an interesting ride. There has been many ups and downs but it's definitely been amazing. I have only been in two serious relationships in the past and both times there were many factors that played in their falling apart. For the first time I feel like I am giving my relationship a fair fighting chance and that feels good. I have only lived with one other boyfriend and that wasn't working out due to my escorting and our frequent drug use. It has definitely been a very complicated and hard thing for me to achieve, but it has definitely been worth the work. Very thankful to have Dylan in my life.
