Back In The Work Force

Unfortunately
part of my new path has included a lack of disposable income. There really hasn't been much income at all really. Don't get me wrong, I have done really well staying afloat but it's been very tight. I would be lying if I said I didn't miss the days when there were a few hundred dollars at my disposal at any given moment. However, I can say that living a more humble life is a small price to pay for being clean and sober...and on the right path again.

When I started to realize that money wasn't going to come to me as easy as it had in my previous life, I started looking into what to do for a more steady income. First I gave bartending a try but found it to be too much like high school, chaotic and full of drama. Definitely not the environment that I want to be working in. After that I gave Kelly Services a shot to see if they could find a place for me, that never really panned out. So I figured I would start back at the beginning and seek a position in the food service industry again. I swore I would never go back but times are tough and school isn't going to pay for itself.

It took a great deal of soul searching before I convinced myself there was no shame in doing what it takes to get things done. It is definitely not the proudest moment in my life but I do find solace in knowing that I am walking a better path now than I was then. Though there was plenty of money then, along with it came heavy drug use and a very promiscuous lifestyle. When I stop and think about it..I wouldn't change anything I have done in my past, nor what I am doing now. I had a lot of amazing experiences and was allotted many opportunities that many people weren't at my age.

It's just time to grow up a little and start being a big boy!

Memory Lane: Morgan McMichaels

Walk with me down memory lane.....

Imagine how surprised I was when I turned on Rupaul's Drag Race: Season 2 and saw two of my friends from Los Angeles competing in it. The whole time we would watch I would brag about my friend Morgan McMichaels. I wasn't really that close to Raven, but Morgan and I really go back. All the way back to my drag days when we would work together at the bars around town. I remember talking shop with her backstage waiting for our numbers to come on. We would talk about everything from costumes to the method in which we would tuck. Good Times!

I've always had a soft spot in my heart for Morgan. If I remember correctly we started doing drag around the same time, and back when I was still performing, we were almost on the same level and growing together. Aside from my personal history with here though, she is absolutely amazing to watch on stage. There is just something fun and energetic about her that always entertains. There were a great deal of shady bitches in the drag scene but that was never her. I have to say that she is probably one of my favorites.

When I cut off all my hair and started living as a gay boy again I lost a lot of my friends I had made in that life. It is probably one of my only regrets about not doing drag anymore. There were some who stayed in touch but the relationship was never the same. I guess as life changes you go through different stages and along the way you lose and gain friends. Though drag was a majority of what Morgan and I had in common, even after the change we maintained a level of our friendship and that was enough for me.
I LOVE YOU BETCH!!

Left Behind: Cool Tom

So I decided that I am going to start a portion of my blog dedicated to the few but very special friends I left behind in Los Angeles. Though I have left behind that part of my life, these people were always there for me and will still be a very important part of my life. They were there with me through my addiction as well as all my accomplishments and failures. I owe a lot of who I am to my friends and I want to share some of them with everyone *wink*

First would have to be....

Tom was not only an amazing friend to me over the years but I owe a lot of my success as Kyle Foxx to him. Aside from knowing everyone in the porn industry, Tom was an amazing photographer who is responsible for some of my more famous photos. It was because of him I was able to watch myself progress over the years. More so than anyone else in my life, Tom was definitely a father figure who was always looking out for me and trying to keep me out of trouble.

Working with Tom always made me feel confident because everything he said was so positive and genuinely sweet. It was his kind words that would always make me feel better if I was down. Anytime I was in need or needed someone to talk to, he was always there for me. There were times when I would be so strung out and act like a total ass...Tom would just give me time to come around and be right there for me again. There aren't very many people in my life that I feel comfortable saying I could trust with my life, but Tom is definitely one of them.

THANKS FOR EVERYTHING TOM !!

Memory Lane: Prince Poppycock

Walk with me down memory lane....

Several years ago there was a club in Los Angeles by the name of FUBAR that had an event each week called DIRTY DEEDS. It was actually kind of a big deal, they had CHI CHI LARUE in the DJ booth and hot porn stars dancing and doing live shows all over the place. It was actually quite an entertaining night. It was where all of the pornstars and their admirers would come to commingle with one another. One of the few places we could go to get away from the labels and judgements that followed people in the sex industry.

Now back to the story at hand, working the door was this amazingly sweet guy who we all knew as Prince Poppycock. Most of the time he was dressed down but when he would dress up it was absolutely AMAZING. Big white wigs and old victorian type costuming, it was an astonishing transformation. Well the other night DYLAN was watching television while I was blogging. I got up to walk to the room for something and saw this guy on AMERICA'S GOT TALENT who was singing opera..I was like "hmm looks like my friend Prince Poppycock" and keep going thinking nothing about it. When I came back through, to my surprise, it was Prince Poppycock. I knew that he was amazing to look at but had no idea the bitch could sing.
BRAVO PRINCE POPPYCOCK !!!

The Show Must Go On

Oh man where do I start ?!?!?

I have spent the last 8 years of my life as someone else. When I was 16 I started doing drag and took on the persona SERENA SKYY. In that time I moved to Los Angeles and built a rather good name for myself. Around the time I turned 19 I decided to cut off all my hair and start over as a boy. Only weeks after that I was recruited into the gay porn world where I then took on the persona KYLE FOXXX. That continued to be image all the way up to my move to Dallas early this year. I spent so long being all these other people, that I forgot how to just be James.

Kyle Foxxx Blog

Moving to Dallas has probably been one of the best moves I have made in my life in a very long time. Though I had many amazing friends and a pretty good life in Los Angeles, I also had a very hearty drug addiction which had consumed me for nearly 5 years. When I decided to stop using and start living sober I was faced with a rather hard decision. I could either cut everyone off I knew and start from scratch in LA (which would have killed me being around people I considered friends for so long and not be able to hang out with them) OR I could take my chances in a new town and try rebuilding my life there. Obviously I chose the latter of the two and it has worked out fairly well for me so far.

Part of my new path includes a more healthy day to day routine and diet, making time to work out and work on my body several times a week, and finding fun and healthy hobbies to take up my free time. It has been a constant battle to stay sober but I find little things every day that make it easier. It helps that I am surrounded with people who care a great deal about me and want to see me get better. Having my best friend, Cicero, here in Dallas with me makes the change so much easier. I can't imagine having to have done it without him. I still stay in contact with many of my friends back in Los Angeles and do hope to make it back that way sometime soon for a visit. I just feel that right now I am where I need to be and need to work on that.

I thought long and hard about what it is I wanted to do with this blog and came up with plenty of thoughts and goals. First and most important..I am going to use it as a method of tracking my progress with my diet and exercise regiment. There will probably be frequent updates as to what I have been eating and what I am doing in the gym. I also think it's important to stay true to my interests, so there are sure to be plenty of posts on hot boys and fun toys. Throw in some quirky stories and personal opinions here and there..and that will probably be the gist of it. I am very excited about this new venture and look forward to taking you all down....

.......THE BEATEN PATH !!!!!!!
